“Modeling SDH national strategic plan in to PHC for 14 priority areas as general framework” Funded by WHO, a qualitative study was conducted to propose a model for integration of 14 social determinants of health in Iranian Primary Health Care system. To determine main new activities that will be performed by PHC for each priority. To identify level of PHC intervention based on WHO conceptual framework. To explain tasks related to each activity in different levels. To identify other partners for successful implementing the mentioned activities. PI: Dr. Hossein Malkafzali

“Analyzing the situation of community based programs and activities in Iran” Funded by WHO APW-026. Since 1990, different community based programs have been implemented in different fields of health such as preventive and supportive services in Iran, But during this period , no research related to comprehensive assessment of these programs has been done . The purpose of this study was to analyze the situation of community based health programs in Iran. The investigation was a qualitative study; required data was obtained from in-depth interviews, semi structural interviews with principal managers and executive managers and focus group discussions with volunteers and service recipients. “Evaluation of community based participatory research projects implemented in Iran during 2005” Funded by WHO APW: 06/54. Development of the population research stations in Iran in 2001 provided groundwork for empowering the community and transferring the research leadership to the public. To evaluate five community based participatory research projects implemented in Iran during 2005. A participatory research evaluation as a systematic inquiry with the collaboration of those affected by the issue being studied was conducted. To evaluate research planning and process, to evaluate promoting research finding and to evaluate the interpretation and analysis of results in each selected project.

“Needs Assessment and Priority Setting in Health Care and Research, in 10 Universities of Medical Sciences in Islamic Republic of Iran” Funded by WHO: APW: 06/1582. This project was designed and conducted to set regional research priorities in 7 provinces in Iran through need assessment and active contribution of stakeholders and health service recipients. This study was carried out in 2 phases: 1-Needs assessment for health problems, 2- Priority setting in health and research.
