Research Priorities
 

Research priorities of Pediatric Neurorehabilitation Research Center– 2016-2017

1.      Determining the norms of growth and development in different developmental domains (motor, communication, cognitive, behavioral, emotional, social, spiritual) in Iranian children.

2.      Determining the incidence and prevalence of developmental delays and disorders (motor, communication, cognitive, behavioral, emotional, social, spiritual) in Iranian children and adolescents.

3.      Determining the prevalence and the relationship of personal, familial, environmental and social factors with the incidence and prevalence of developmental delays and disorders in Iranian children.

4.      Developing and/or standardization of screening and diagnostic tools for a variety of developmental and behavioral delays or disorders in children and adolescents.

5.      Developing and/or standardization of tools for assessing rehabilitation treatment outcomes in children and adolescents with a variety of developmental delays or disorders.

6.      Comparison of different diagnostic strategies for a variety of developmental delays or disorders in children and adolescents

7.      Comparison of different prevention strategies for a variety of developmental delays or disorders in children and adolescents

8.      Comparison of different early intervention strategies for children and adolescents with a variety of developmental delays or disorders.

9.      Comparison of various educational/training intervention strategies for children and adolescents with a variety of developmental disorders or delays.

10.  Comparison of various psycho-social intervention strategies for children and adolescents with a variety of developmental disorders or delays.

11.   Comparison of various therapeutic-rehabilitation intervention strategies for children and adolescents with a variety of developmental disorders.

12.   Comparison of different strategies for promotion of development in normal children and adolescents in terms of different developmental domains (motor, communication, cognitive, behavioral, emotional, social, spiritual).

13.   Comparison of various rehabilitation strategies for neuro- muscular disorders outside the central nervous system (such as spinal cord injury, spina bifida, Erbs palsy, peripheral neuropathy and neuromuscular disorders) in children and adolescents.

14.   Production of evidence-based guidelines and protocols for early intervention in children and adolescents with different developmental delays or disorders.

15.   Determining the status of associated findings and disorders in children and adolescents with different developmental delays or disorders.

16.   Innovation, invention, production and standardization of rehabilitation aids and devices for children with different developmental disorders.

17.  Determining the prevalence of psychological and behavioral disorders in children and adolescents with different developmental delays or disorders and their family members.

18.   Determining the status of genetic abnormalities in children and adolescents with different developmental delays or disorders.

19.  Determining the status of social determinants of health in children and adolescents with different developmental delays or disorders and their families.

20.   Evaluation of sexual development and puberty in children with different developmental delays or disorders.

21.  Systematic reviews in various fields related to the development of children and adolescents (in accordance with the 20 priorities mentioned above)
