"The Social Determinants of Health and illness? Webinar Was Held in the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences (USWR)
"The Social Determinants of Health and Illness (SDHI)" Webinar was held in collaboration with the Behavioral Sciences Research Group of Fars academic center for Education, Culture and Research and the Department of Social Welfare Management at the USWR.
SCHI webinar was a special scientific event for graduate students, researchers, and faculty members of universities and training centers presented by Professor William C. Cockerham, Distinguished Professor of Sociology and Chair Emeritus, University of Alabama at Birmingham, he is one of the world's leading professors in the field of health sociology, who has written several books in the field of social determinants of health (SDH).
The SDH have an important influence on health inequities - the unfair and avoidable differences in health status seen within and between countries. In countries at all levels of income, health and illness follow a social gradient: the lower the socioeconomic position, the worse the health. Addressing SDH appropriately is fundamental for improving health and reducing longstanding inequities in health, which requires action by all sectors and civil society.
