Social workers are the hidden pillar of the country’s health and rehabilitation system

The Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, by issuing a message on the occasion of the birth of Imam Ali (AS), Father’s Day, and Social Worker's Day, emphasized the strategic role of social workers in promoting social health and rehabilitation.

According to the university’s web correspondent, Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini, Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, in a message on the blessed birth anniversary of Imam Ali (AS), Father’s Day, and Social Worker's Day, considered this auspicious coincidence a valuable opportunity to revisit the concepts of justice, social responsibility, and sincere service to the community.

He referred to Imam Ali’s position as a symbol of justice-seeking, human dignity, and support for the underprivileged. He stated that Alawi values today manifest scientifically, systematically, and in the field of the social work profession. Social workers, as one of the fundamental pillars of the rehabilitation and social health system, play a decisive role in improving the quality of life for people with disabilities, patients, families, and vulnerable groups.

The Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, stressing the role of the university in developing this field, added that the USWR, relying on expert human capital, has a problem-solving approach. The production of indigenous knowledge today is recognized as a scientific, educational, and policy-making hub for social work in the country and plays a leading role in training committed personnel and responding to real community needs.

Dr. Hosseini also, in congratulating Father’s Day, expressed gratitude for the efforts of male colleagues and the university’s father-figures, noting that the responsible efforts of male colleagues, both in fulfilling their professional roles and in their roles as fathers in the family, significantly contribute to enhancing human capital, organizational ethics, and fulfilling the university’s scientific, educational, medical, and social missions.

Finally, while congratulating Social Workers' Day, he thanked the university’s professors, students, and all social workers across the country, especially colleagues at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, and prayed for their continued success in the path of service to health, rehabilitation, and social justice.
