With the allocation of 500 million tomans by the Research Vice-Chancellery, hundreds of titles of printed scientific books (Persian and Latin) and more than 600 new electronic book titles were provided and prepared for the use of the academic community, researchers, and affiliated centers.
According to the university web-day reporter, Dr. Saeedeh Mehrkian, President of the Central Library of University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, in the Book Cafe ceremony at the university's central library, referring to the purchase report from the virtual book fair in May 2026, said: Following the allocation of 500 million tomans by the Research Vice-Chancellery for the purchase of scientific resources, the process of providing the necessary books was completed.
While pointing to the importance of updating resources in enhancing the university's research level, she added: During this period of the book fair in May, the university's central library succeeded in procuring 106 Persian book titles in 218 copies worth 1,335,102,200 Rials, as well as 93 Latin offset book titles in 112 copies for 2,331,764,500 Rials.
Purchase of 151 book titles for Razi Hospital Library
The President of the university's central library continued: As one of the affiliated centers, the Razi Hospital Library has purchased 151 book titles comprising 153 copies with a budget of 801,940,150 Rials.
Provision of 604 electronic book titles for students and professors
Dr. Mehrkian said: In addition to printed resources, the provision of 604 electronic book titles at a cost exceeding 453,750,000 Rials has also been put on the agenda, and these resources are currently in the information conversion and preparation stage for use by students and professors.
Pointing to the effective role of books and reading in advancing knowledge and strengthening scientific thinking, she stated: The Central Library of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, to support scientific, educational, and research activities, is always striving to provide access to reliable and up-to-date resources for the academic community in the fields of rehabilitation and social welfare.

On the sidelines of this scientific event, the Persian and English pages of the publishing website were unveiled, and the books purchased in the May virtual book fair were introduced
This meeting, with the introduction of the book Teaching Theory of Mind and Social Skills and the unveiling of new publishing resources, provided an opportunity for knowledge exchange in the field of social cognition and communication skills.
