Promoting the culture of prayer requires modern approaches compatible with the younger generation.

The Chancellor, during a meeting of the Prayer Establishment Headquarters, while offering condolences for the Fatemiyya period, emphasized the necessity of adopting participatory and student-centered approaches, as well as the exemplary presence of managers in congregational prayer rows to strengthen direct connection with the younger generation.

Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini, the Chancellor, while emphasizing the necessity of adopting modern approaches tailored to the needs of the new generation, stressed the importance of strengthening the culture of prayer through participatory and student-centered approaches and creating an intimate and ethical atmosphere within the university environment.

Dr. Hosseini, while offering condolences on the occasion of the Fatemiyya period and the martyrdom of Lady Fatima Zahra (SA), reviewed the status of congregational prayers and their related infrastructures. He emphasized the necessity of utilizing the life patterns and moral teachings of Lady Zahra (SA) in the path of promoting religious values. Furthermore, he highlighted the active and continuous presence of officials, managers, and faculty members in congregational prayers as an exemplary role and an opportunity to establish a direct and unmediated connection with students and to listen to their concerns and demands.

This meeting was held with the presence of the Head of the Office of the Representative of the Supreme Leader at the university, the Cultural and Student Vice-Chancellor, the Research and Technology Vice-Chancellor, the Head of the University's Sisters' Basij, and other members of the Prayer Establishment Headquarters.

During this meeting, members of the university's Prayer Establishment Headquarters, while reviewing the current status of prayer rooms, faculties, dormitories, and affiliated medical centers, emphasized the necessity of improving the physical status and facilities of prayer rooms, including cleanliness, hygiene, equipping audio systems, and providing a tranquil environment. They also stressed the necessity of removing bureaucracy to cover current expenses and meet the essential needs of the prayer rooms.

One key discussion point was the need to coordinate educational and administrative schedules with prayer times so students and staff have sufficient opportunity to pray. In this regard, it was suggested that maximum participation of residents be ensured through flexibility in dormitory schedules.

Meeting members emphasized using the capacity of cultural centers and student organizations, and even launching prayer establishment committees in dormitories, with a focus on students themselves. Additionally, holding intimate programs, such as refreshment stations after prayer, was proposed as a solution to create an interactive space.

In the section regarding cultural pathology, attendees emphasized the importance of good character, tolerance, and avoiding repulsive and judgmental behaviors. Conversely, they stressed the introduction of successful, committed, and religious professors as scientific and moral role models to make the bond between science and religion more tangible for students.

Furthermore, in line with the scientific explanation of concepts, it was suggested to use scientific findings in the fields of psychology, mental health, and biomechanics to explain the philosophy of prayer in a language compatible with the academic atmosphere. Additionally, the role of pilgrimage programs and short-term excursions in creating intimacy and friendship among students was noted.

In conclusion, the necessity of forming specialized working groups and conducting periodic surveys among academics was emphasized to accurately identify needs and provide innovative programs in the field of congregational prayer.
