The 8th Anniversary of the Burial of Anonymous Martyrs Held at the University
The ceremony marking the 8th anniversary of the burial of the university's anonymous martyrs was held on Saturday, February 21st (2nd of Esfand), at the site of the martyrs' tombs.
According to the university’s Web Day correspondent, the event was organized by the University Medical Community Basij, the Representative Office of the Supreme Leader, and the University Headquarters. The ceremony was attended by the Chancellor’s advisor, several vice chancellors, directors, and staff members at the holy shrine of the anonymous martyrs.
Dr. Hamidreza Khorram Khorshid, Vice-Chancellor for Education at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, spoke at the ceremony to honor the memory of the martyrs, veterans, and devotees of the Imposed War. He described the martyrs as selfless individuals who sacrificed their lives and families to defend the Islamic homeland.
He added, "If the name of the Islamic Republic of Iran shines today with dignity and pride across the globe, it is owed to the patience, resilience, sacrifice, and courage of the martyrs and veterans of the eight years of Sacred Defense." He emphasized that reminding the younger generation of these acts of bravery and selflessness must continue, as the current peace and security of the country are the result of those sacrifices.
The ceremony included the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, the Martyrs' Pilgrimage Prayer (Ziyaratnameh), and a heartfelt letter read by the child of a martyr.
