An Opportunity to Strengthen English Language Skills, Scientific Dialogue, and Knowledge Exchange
The Health in Emergency and Disaster Research Center at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences is organizing a series of interactive sessions titled Rumbling Around. These biweekly sessions aim to enhance English language skills, strengthen scientific dialogue skills, and foster scientific interactions among faculty members, researchers, and students.
According to the report from the university's web correspondent, these sessions are designed with a different approach from traditional language classes, ensuring that English is practiced in the context of real, scientific conversation. In each session, a topical and challenging subject in the field of health in accidents and disasters is selected, and participants present their views, questions, and experiences in an open and interactive environment.
The primary goal of this program is not merely language instruction; rather, it seeks to enable participants to strengthen their critical thinking, expression of viewpoints, participation in scientific debates, and knowledge sharing while practicing their English. Each session covers an independent topic, providing a suitable opportunity for mutual learning and the formation of scientific discussions.
This program is held under the supervision and coordination of Professor Hamidreza Khankeh, a professor in the Department of Health in Emergency and Disaster and a member of the Health in Emergency and Disaster Research Center. Dr. Elham Ghanatpisheh serves as the sessions' coordinator, and Ms. Mahshid Sabetghadam is responsible for session execution, both collaborating on the planning and organization of these meetings.
In the second session of this series, the topic What is the most underestimated disaster risk today? will be discussed, focusing on investigating less-noticed risks in the field of disasters.
These sessions are held online every two weeks on Sundays, and attendance is open to professors, faculty members, researchers, students, and other individuals interested in the field of health in accidents and disasters.
The Health in Emergency and Disaster Research Center invites all interested parties to participate in these sessions to engage in discussions about important and emerging issues in the field of accidents and disasters while strengthening their English in a scientific and interactive setting.
