Comprehensive OSCE Exam Held in the University's Physiotherapy Department

The Head of the Physiotherapy Department at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences announced the successful implementation of the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) and the internship supplement for undergraduate students; an event that, after three decades, is considered a strategic step toward assessing and enhancing students' clinical competencies before they enter the labor market.

According to the report from the university's web correspondent, Dr. Mohammad Ali Mohseni Bandpei, Head of the Physiotherapy Department at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, noting the importance of conducting this exam, said: To accurately evaluate clinical capabilities, the university's Physiotherapy Department has, for the first time in 32 years, proceeded to hold the OSCE and internship supplement. In this exam, students were required to demonstrate their theoretical knowledge through practical skills at the patient's bedside.

He added: Physiotherapy is a field with a very broad and sensitive scope, and the presence of students in clinical environments requires complete mastery of practical skills. This exam reminds students of the importance of the internship period and highlights the serious necessity of integrating theoretical and basic education with clinical skills.

While expressing gratitude for the support of the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellors for Education, and relevant management, the Head of the Physiotherapy Department stated: The Physiotherapy Department bears a high level of responsibility, as it accepts students across four levels, from undergraduate to the Doctor of Professional Studies. In this regard, and with the support of university officials, we succeeded in obtaining the license for the Neuromusculoskeletal Rehabilitation Research Center, which can serve as a powerful arm alongside our educational activities.

Referring to the department's development plans, Dr. Mohseni Bandpei noted: We are currently in consultations with the Research Deputy of the Ministry of Health to equip a Comprehensive Research and Rehabilitation Center, ensuring this university becomes the country's rehabilitation hub and that we take effective steps toward serving the target community.

He concluded by saying: We hope that by training competent graduates and providing specialized training in line with modern standards, we will witness an improvement in the level of services within the country's health system.
