Educational Transformation Program Launches at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences

The Vice Chancellor of Education at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences announced a major overhaul of the university’s educational system for the upcoming year. This three-year plan comprises ten key initiatives, overseen by ten dedicated task groups comprising faculty members.

According to a report from the university’s web news agency, a meeting of the university’s academic department heads and research center directors was held, attended by the university Chancellor, vice chancellors, and administrative managers.

Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini, the university Chancellor, congratulated staff on the Eid al-Ghadir and Eid al-Adha, and expressed gratitude for their efforts throughout the past year. He also highlighted the graduation ceremony for the 1400 intake students, noting that students who started their studies during the COVID-19 pandemic are now celebrating their graduation. He commended the efforts of Dr. Ershadi, the chancellor of Cultural Affairs, and colleagues who organized the event.

Dr. Hamid Reza Khoramkhorshid, the vice chancellor of Education, explained that this meeting aimed to outline the planned initiatives for the new academic year. He emphasized that, based on strategic planning, the university’s educational system will experience significant changes in the upcoming year.

This three-year plan features ten overarching initiatives, with ten faculty-led working groups tasked with their implementation.

During the meeting, Dr. Khoramkhorshid announced the ten new educational programs, which include:

• Systematizing the university’s international education efforts
• Enhancing medical ethics and professional ethics
• Transforming accreditation processes in medical education
• Establishing scientific authority and future forecasting
• Innovating in educational programs related to rehabilitation and social health
• Developing advanced technologies and smart systems in social and rehabilitation sciences
• Improving the economy and productivity in social and rehabilitation sciences education
• Mission-driven approaches and increasing social responsibility in rehabilitation and social health disciplines
• Revising curricula with a new perspective
• Monitoring and evaluating the impact of the reduction in social and rehabilitation sciences programs

The Vice Chancellor of Education emphasized the vital role of faculty members in the successful implementation of these initiatives.
