Electronic Version of Trauma-Focused Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Released
The electronic version of the book Trauma-Focused Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, authored by Dr. Hamid Poursharifi—Associate Professor at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences and President of the Iranian Psychological Association—has been published. Aimed at supporting short-term psychological interventions for victims of accidents and crises, the book has been made available for free to psychologists across the country.
According to a report by Webda, Dr. Poursharifi announced the release of the e-book, stating: In March 2026 (Esfand 1404), the country faced another imposed war, this time with more severe and extensive dimensions, leading to predictions of a large number of individuals suffering from Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).
He added that in response to this, the Director General of the Office of Mental, Social, and Addiction Health at the Ministry of Health highlighted the urgent need for psychologists—particularly those at the Ministry's Seraj centers—to have access to practical resources for the short-term treatment of this disorder.
Dr. Poursharifi continued: In a rapid response, a 150-page book titled Trauma-Focused Brief Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, for which a draft had been previously prepared, was finalized to serve as a practical guide for specialists performing short-term psychological interventions.
According to the President of the Iranian Psychological Association, the e-book was initially released for free on the official website of the Iranian Psychological Association. Subsequently, it was introduced to psychologists nationwide through relevant departments within the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Science, the State Welfare Organization, and the Organization for Psychology and Counseling.
He expressed hope that through widespread dissemination and careful study by professionals, it would become possible to provide effective, short-term interventions for those affected by these crises.
