According to the university's web correspondent, Dr. Hamidreza Khanke, Director of the Health in Emergencies and Disasters Research Center, in explaining the performance and prospects of this center, reported the continuous successes of this research unit in the past year and stated: This center has succeeded, in addition to enhancing its scientific and executive ranking, in experiencing positive and sustainable growth at the national level for the first time.
The Specialized Health Arm in Facing Disasters
Dr. Khanke, emphasizing the key role of this center as the specialized arm of the health sector in facing disasters, noted: In addition to drafting the National Risk Management Document in the Health System, this center has carried out extensive activities in international arenas, such that bilateral cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO), Germany, and other prominent countries reflects the scientific standing and international credibility of this center.
Extracting Lessons Learned; A Strategic Priority of the Ministry of Health
The Director of the Health in Emergencies and Disasters Research Center, in another part of his speech, referred to the plans of this center and said: With the issuance of the directives of Dr. Zafarghandi, the honorable Minister of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, one of the main priorities of this center in the upcoming period will be the extraction and compilation of the lessons learned of the health system in facing accidents and disasters, so that these experiences are used in enhancing the resilience of the system.

Dr. Khankeh also announced the launch of a new strategic project and stated: In line with strengthening supervisory infrastructures, the first National Health Monitoring and Surveillance Center will be established at this center. The purpose of launching this center is precise, continuous, and intelligent monitoring of the health situation in the face of incidents, so that by providing specialized and operational reports, it assists health sector decision-makers in adopting preventive measures.
