Heads of Educational Departments Play a Key Role in Managing Energy Imbalance and Improving Student Processes
The university's council meeting for heads of educational departments was held in the presence of the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor for Education, and the heads of educational departments. Topics such as readiness for the new academic year, managing energy imbalance, improving thesis processes, and enhancing the quality of accreditation were discussed and reviewed.
According to the university's web correspondent, Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini, the Chancellor, in his speech congratulating the start of the new academic year, emphasized the necessity of a smart transition and empathy among all educational departments.
Referring to the challenges ahead, particularly the country's energy imbalance, he asked department heads to support the university under these conditions by managing classroom energy consumption optimally and adhering to professional dress codes appropriate for the educational environment. The Chancellor also emphasized the decisive role of department heads in resolving student issues, especially for graduate students facing graduation delays, and called for ongoing interaction between department heads and the university's vice chancellery for education.
The Cultural Role of Professors and Social Responsibility
Later in the meeting, Hojatoleslam Nabi Allah Fazlalali, head of the office of the representative of the Supreme Leader at the university, explained the cultural role of professors and emphasized the importance of conveying educational messages and promoting professional dress codes to students.
In another part of his speech, he introduced the e-book Imprisoned Women as a research work by the Arman Think Tank research group, published by Maaref Publishing. Hojatoleslam Fazlalali, noting that this work is a documented narrative of one of the most bitter crimes in history against women, stated: This book, relying on field research and international documents, analyzes various dimensions of crises such as violence, sexual abuse, trafficking, inequality, and the objectification of women, and its study is recommended for awareness.
Improving Education Quality and Departmental Accreditation
In another part of the session, Dr. Hamidreza Khorramkhorshid, the Vice Chancellor for Education, explained the strategic duties of department heads and emphasized the necessity of strict supervision over the continuous presence of professors in classrooms and internship courses.
He also pointed out the necessity of being prepared to conduct virtual training in crises and called for maximum accuracy in recording grades and close monitoring of students' academic status. The issue of accreditation for educational departments and the necessity of establishing self-assessment committees managed by department heads were other axes emphasized by the Vice Chancellor for Education to improve educational standards.
Optimizing Research and Graduate Processes
Dr. Mohammadreza Dinmohammadi, Director of Educational and Graduate Affairs, reviewed the status of graduate students during the meeting. By introducing modern tools such as the Smart Assistant for Selecting Thesis and Research Project Reviewers, he emphasized the importance of updating professors' information in systems such as Tabib. He also called for accelerating the thesis defense process and requested precision and supervision from professors in recording final grades.
At the end of the meeting, other managers and board members exchanged views by presenting suggestions in the fields of cultural interaction among professors, management of international student affairs, and improving communication between educational departments and affiliated centers.
