Influential Physiotherapy Alumni: From University to Society and Global Arenas

Influential Physiotherapy Alumni: From University to Society and Global Arenas

Coinciding with July 24, National Physiotherapy Day, the University's Public Relations, within the framework of its new approach to introducing influential alumni from various disciplines, has turned its attention to two physiotherapists this time. These two figures have demonstrated in their professional journeys—ranging from entrepreneurship in the field of rehabilitation to presence in national and international arenas—that university knowledge can be transformed into effective service for society and an inspiring model for today's students.

According to the university's web correspondent, the Public Relations of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences will henceforth, alongside the national days of various disciplines, introduce influential alumni who have been able to create value for society, the health system, education, and entrepreneurship in their professional paths. The goal of this approach is to represent real growth trajectories, motivate students, and strengthen the bond between the university and its influential graduates, without these introductions having an advertising tone.

On the occasion of July 24, National Physiotherapy Day, and upon the suggestion of the Head of the Physiotherapy Department at the university, we have turned to two physiotherapists from this field's alumni, each of whom represents an example of effort, responsibility, and professional impact in their specialized field.

Dr. Iman Kamali-Hakim: Entrepreneurship in Rehabilitation Based on University Knowledge

Dr. Iman Kamali-Hakim, a physiotherapist and an alumnus of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences at both Bachelor's and Doctoral levels in physiotherapy, is among the influential graduates and entrepreneurs in the field of rehabilitation. Having built his scientific foundation and professional identity at this university, he has continued his professional path through continuous learning, clinical experience, and a responsible approach to patients' needs. He has successfully established and managed a specialized physiotherapy center, providing a platform for the professional activity and growth of 15 physiotherapy specialists.

Alongside his professional and entrepreneurial activities, Dr. Kamali-Hakim has pursued the advancement of his specialized knowledge by obtaining international professional certificates, including the international Manual Therapy certification from the UK and the MDT McKenzie Method international diploma.

He views entrepreneurship in health as more than just establishing a medical center; he defines it as building a platform for providing high-quality service to patients, empowering young therapists, and creating sustainable specialized employment. This approach has made him a significant example of the link between university knowledge, professional experience, and social impact.

From University Graduation to Accompanying the National Football Team

Alireza Shahab is another alumnus of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, who completed his Bachelor's degree at this university and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree at the same institution.

During his years of professional activity as a physiotherapist, he has been recognized as a physiotherapist for Iran's national football teams. Based on published news and introductions, he has accompanied the national team during several World Cup periods, a presence that has established his name among the well-known figures in sports physiotherapy in the country. Additionally, published profiles mention his professional awards and honors in the field of Asian football medicine.

Shahab's professional experience shows that the path of progress in physiotherapy can begin at the university and, through expertise, persistence, and an effective presence in national and international arenas, can become an inspiring model for students.

The introduction of these influential alumni serves as a reminder that the path to professional success begins during student years through continuous effort, purposeful learning, responsibility, and belief in individual capabilities.

The University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences hopes that today's students will more seriously pursue their paths of growth and influence starting today by planning for the future, utilizing scientific and educational opportunities, strengthening specialized skills, and adhering to professional ethics.

Undoubtedly, many students today can become influential figures in the health system, education, research, entrepreneurship, and community service in the not-too-distant future; and the university hopes to soon reflect their stories of success and impact on this same page and express appreciation for their efforts and achievements.
