Interaction between education and research, a driving force for university progress
The Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, stressing the importance of interaction between educational and research groups, stated that education and research are two fundamental functions of faculty members and noted that the synergy between these two areas plays a significant role in advancing the university.
According to a report by the correspondent of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, in this session of the university’s Research Council, a report was presented on major proposals for social monitoring projects, the Pediatric Neurorehabilitation Research Center, ethical approval; major ongoing projects of the Genetic Research Center, the Aging Research Center (longitudinal cohort study), the SDH Research Center, the Substance Misuse Research Center, the Health in Emergency and Disaster Research Center, and the Psychosis Research Center, and these were discussed by the Chancellor, the Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology, and the university’s Research Council.
Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini, Chancellor of the university, while thanking the faculty members of the educational and research groups, emphasized greater interaction and collaboration between the teaching and research faculty and said: Education and research are two important functions of faculty members at the university, and the interaction of these groups leads to the university’s progress.
Continuing, he explained the process of approving major projects and impactful plans, and given the university’s missions, he deemed it essential to pursue major plans aimed at addressing national problems.
In this meeting, Dr. Saeed Khanjani, Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology at the university, emphasized supporting the university’s Research and Technology Office for research projects designed in line with university policies, missions, and national needs.
He said: Considering the number of researchers at the university, we are aiming to increase both the quantity and quality of impactful projects.
In this meeting, Dr. Teimori, head of the Secretariat of the Research Council of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, explained the report on major project proposals; the guidelines for evaluating research activities of the university and research centers, follow-up of policy summaries, protocols, programs, clinical guidelines, and other items in impactful plans.
In this meeting, Maryam Zare Zadeh, head of the Unit for Evaluating Research Activities of the Vice- Chancellery for Research and Technology of the university, presented a comparative performance report of the university’s research centers for the current year with 2023 and 2022, the evaluation results of the research centers’ papers, the number and score of impactful projects of the research centers, and other related items.
