Ministry of Health Commends Strategic Performance of the Social Welfare Management Research Center A New Chapter of Scientific Activities Begins with Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining Approaches
Following a qualitative evaluation by the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education, the strategic performance of the university's Social Welfare Management Research Center was commended as an influential model within the country's health system. This center, which has launched a new chapter of its activities simultaneously with obtaining the final approval of the Expansion Council of Medical Science Universities, has taken steps to enhance social work and psychosocial health services by utilizing modern approaches in data mining and artificial intelligence, and by strengthening specialized committees for child welfare.
According to the report from the university's web correspondent, during the official qualitative judging and evaluation session of the Social Welfare Management Research Center, evaluators from the Ministry of Health conducted a detailed review of the center's achievements, research projects, and the impact of its scientific interventions on the health system. The meeting was held to assess the center's scientific capacity to achieve strategic goals in social welfare and to examine the center's new capacities in line with evidence-based policymaking.
Dr. Marveh Vameghi, Director of the Social Welfare Management Research Center, while explaining the scientific and research activities during the qualitative evaluation meeting, emphasized the center's position as a bridge between social sciences and health services. She stated: Relying on years of research experience, this center pursues ambitious goals toward developing and promoting welfare concepts for a wide range of audiences, from policymakers to the general public.
Success in National Evaluation and the Start of a New Chapter of Activities
This success was achieved as the Social Welfare Management Research Center entered a new stage of its scientific activities, coinciding with receiving the final approval from the Expansion Council of Medical Science Universities in March 2025. Referring to the direct support of the Ministry of Health for the center's specialized committees, Dr. Vameghi considered the projects formulated in the field of child well-being to be a significant step in identifying challenges and improving support structures.
Specialized Committees: Drivers of Evidence-Based Policymaking
By introducing its specialized committees, the center has concentrated its research priorities on two key axes:
Child Well-being and Welfare Committee: Aimed at assessing the current status, localizing international interventions, and promoting child welfare concepts among practitioners and policymakers.
Rapid Assessment and Response Committee: Aimed at developing applied knowledge, implementing modern methods in social health, and providing specialized counseling services.
Integration of Technology and Artificial Intelligence in Social Research
Another emphasized axis in this meeting was the center's technological approach. The establishment of the Office of Psychosocial Health and Addiction Prevention, along with the creation of infrastructures for collecting and analyzing electronic client data, has transformed the center into a platform for research based on data mining and artificial intelligence. The center is currently active in the following areas:
Production of video educational content (research methodology).
Analysis of complex data and the application of artificial intelligence in research.
Specialized counseling and scientific information dissemination.
Development of National and International Collaborations
By continuously publishing the Social Welfare Quarterly and holding joint scientific meetings with other domestic and international universities, the Social Welfare Management Research Center has been able to consolidate its position as a credible scientific reference.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the evaluators from the Ministry of Health described the center's research actions and scientific interventions as highly valuable and aligned with the strategic needs of the country's health system, due to their direct impact on promoting community health and improving social work services.
