Nurses’ Care for Rehabilitation and Psychiatric Patients Is a Different Story of Perseverance, Professional Ethics, and Restoring Hope to Life

Nurses' Care for Rehabilitation and Psychiatric Patients Is a Different Story of Perseverance, Professional Ethics, and Restoring Hope to Life

The Chancellor of the university, praising the silent sacrifice of nurses in the university's rehabilitation and psychiatric wards, emphasized that caring for patients in this field is a different story of perseverance, professional ethics, and restoring hope to life.

According to the university's web correspondent, Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini, the Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, on the occasion of the auspicious birth of Hazrat Zainab (PBUH) and Nurses' Day, issued a message in honor of the position and unique role of nurses, especially in specialized rehabilitation and psychiatric centers.

The text of the message of the Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences is as follows:

Esteemed professor, dear colleagues, and honorable nurses of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences

Nurse's Day reminds us of the most beautiful expressions of sacrifice, commitment, and benevolence; but within the great family of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, nursing takes on deeper, more specialized dimensions. Nurses in our institution are not only healers of physical pain, but bearers of hope, restorers of lost independence, and companions to those who struggle with the most complex psychological, motor, and rehabilitation conditions.

Serving in rehabilitation centers, and especially in the hospitals and psychiatric centers affiliated with the university, is a different story of patience and endurance. The nurse in these wards, in addition to specialized clinical skills, faces a heavy burden of psychological suffering, behavioral challenges, and long-term care. This field is a space in which every work shift is a great test of professional ethics, deep empathy, and human perseverance. Caring for neurological, psychiatric, and rehabilitation patients requires a heart full of love and nerves of steel; a space in which the main reward finds meaning in the smile of the patient's satisfaction and gradual recovery, and their return to the embrace of society.

I offer my deepest thanks, appreciation, and respect to each one of you, my cultured and compassionate colleagues. I shake the hand of every one of you dear nurses, who, despite all difficulties and limitations, bring your momentous mission to completion with exemplary commitment, and I beseech the Almighty God for the health, prosperity, and ever-increasing success of you and your respected families.

At the end of this message, Dr. Hosseini emphasized the university management's continued support for the demands of the treatment staff and the improvement of their working conditions, especially in the specialized rehabilitation and social health wards.
