At the opening ceremony of the National Congress on Pulmonary Rehabilitation, the university chancellor stressed the key role of rehabilitation in improving the quality of life of respiratory patients and reducing the economic consequences of these diseases. He also highlighted the central role of physiotherapy and the university’s capacities, expressing hope that the outcomes of these meetings will contribute to the enhancement of community health.
According to Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini, Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, at the opening ceremony of the Lung Rehabilitation Conference, which was held at the university, one of the most important scientific conferences that can help public health and draw attention to the consequences of respiratory diseases is the conference on pulmonary rehabilitation.
Referring to the characteristics of respiratory diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) and infections, he emphasized the importance of pulmonary rehabilitation and said that the formation of such a conference and presenting its effective results contribute to improving quality of life, reducing the burden on the health system, and many other areas.
Dr. Hosseini, while introducing the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, pointed to the importance of rehabilitation in the country and added: One of the core disciplines of this university is physiotherapy, which can play an important role in conferences and treatment processes alongside pulmonary specialists.
He also announced that the physiotherapy program at this university accepts students at four levels: Bachelor's, Master's, Doctorate, and DPT, and active research centers in this field are operating at the university.

The Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences said: Pulmonary rehabilitation is not merely a therapeutic intervention, but a comprehensive approach, and pulmonary rehabilitation, by improving respiratory function, enhancing quality of life, and reducing the economic burden, plays valuable roles in the health system and society.
He expressed hope that the practical and scientific solutions resulting from these cross-disciplinary sessions will lead to favorable outcomes and an improved quality of life for all members of society.
