Scientific Conference Empowering Nursing Staff in Crisis Management to Be Held
The scientific conference on hazard and disaster management will be held to disseminate up-to-date knowledge, enhance organizational preparedness, and reduce crisis-related errors in sensitive health sectors.
According to the report from the university's web correspondent, Dr. Marzieh Talebi, a faculty member of the Nursing Department at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences and the Executive Secretary of the scientific conference Empowering Nursing Staff in the Field of Hazard and Disaster Management, stated while explaining the importance of this scientific event: Nurses, as the front line of health service delivery during crises, play a vital and unparalleled role.
Referring to the current conditions of the country, she added: The bitter experiences of the COVID-19 pandemic, natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes, as well as the challenges arising from regional tensions, have made Iran's health system more in need than ever of systematic empowerment of the nursing staff in the fields of hazard management and workplace safety.
Emphasizing the goal of this conference, Dr. Talebi stated that the scientific event is designed to transfer up-to-date knowledge, examine operational challenges, and provide evidence-based solutions. She added: Our ultimate goal is to provide a platform for enhancing organizational preparedness, reducing crisis-oriented errors, and ultimately improving the quality of care, which will directly lead to increasing patient safety and improving the quality indicators of the health system.
Invitation to Managers and Officials of High-Risk Departments
While inviting the nursing community to participate in this event, the Executive Secretary of this conference identified the primary audiences for this program as nursing managers, supervisors, head nurses, and shift leaders in high-risk departments, including the Emergency Department, ICU, and Operating Rooms.
She also noted that nursing education specialists and other nursing staff who need to update their information regarding new accreditation standards and the hazard management cycle can benefit from the educational opportunities of this conference.
