The meeting on the status of the journals of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences was held
According to a report by the Web Daily correspondent of the university, a session was held to assess the status of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences journals in indexing databases. In this meeting, the scientific status and indexing of the university’s journals were examined, and emphasis was placed on improving scientific quality and conformity with international standards.
At the start of the session, Dr. Khaan Jani, Vice Chancellor for Research and Technology at the university, welcomed the attendees and expressed gratitude for holding such meetings and the presence of managers and experts from the Ministry of Health, and stressed the continuation of these sessions to improve the status of the university’s publications.
Subsequently, Dr. Hamid Baradaran, Secretary of the Medical Sciences Journals Commission of the Ministry of Health, referring to the Seventh Development Plan, underscored the necessity of implementing the determined actions within the specified timeframe and added: “In this area, there are two main priorities: first, increasing the number of journal articles even though this may not have a significant effect on the Site Score, and second, pursuing the issue of articles not registered in the index; if any exist, they should be promptly reported to the Scopus indexing database.”
Then, Dr. Fazli, a specialist from the Center for Development and Coordination of Information and Scientific Publications at the Ministry of Health, while reviewing indexed university journals, including the Archives of Rehabilitation, Physical Treatments, Iranian Journal of Ageing, Iranian Rehabilitation Journal (IRJ), and Health in Emergencies and Disasters, presented points on raising the scientific level of journals and avoiding mistakes that could cause a decline in journal rankings.
Subsequently, the editors and researchers of the university journals shared their perspectives, challenges, and recommendations regarding improving the publication process, indexing, and maintaining the scientific quality of journals.
