The Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, in a message issued on the occasion of Book and Reading Week, while congratulating this week to the university community, praised the university librarians and called the university library the largest and richest specialized source in the field of rehabilitation and health in the country.
According to Web Day reporter, Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini, the Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, issued a message on the occasion of Book and Reading Week, considering this week a valuable opportunity to rethink the role of study, books, and scientific resources in enhancing education, research, and specialized health services.
In the opening of his message, Dr. Hosseini congratulated the university family for this week and stated: Book and Reading Week reminds us of the unparalleled position of knowledge and study in advancing scientific goals and improving the quality of health and rehabilitation services. The university community can play its role in developing the country’s health only when continuous learning, deep reading, and access to credible scientific resources become part of its culture.
Referring to the premier position of the university’s Central Library in the country, he added: The Library of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences is the largest and richest source of specialized resources in the field of rehabilitation and health in Iran. Over the past years, this library has managed to bring together an unparalleled collection of print, digital, and scientific resources and has played a principal role as an academic reference for universities, researchers, and specialists in this field.
In another part of his message, the Chancellor, while appreciating the efforts of the university librarians, said: The educated librarians of the university, with their precision, knowledge, and professional commitment, play a fundamental role in facilitating access to scientific resources. Their services, ranging from scholarly advice to resource management and research support, constitute an important part of the university’s scientific infrastructure and deserve the highest level of appreciation.
Continuing, Dr. Hosseini, referring to the university’s plans to develop library services, stated: Expanding digital resources, improving the library’s technical infrastructure, updating resources, and creating an appropriate study space are among the programs the university is pursuing with determination. Strengthening the library is the beating heart of the university’s scholarly and research activities.
In the closing of his message, after congratulating Book Week and Reading Week again, he expressed hope that strengthening the culture of reading and developing scientific resources would provide a foundation for further growth of the university and an elevation of the country’s specialized knowledge.
