Transforming Health and Rehabilitation by Redefining the Role of Public Relations

The Chancellor of the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences extended congratulations to all professionals on Public Relations Day through a heartfelt message, emphasizing the rapid social and technological advancements and highlighting the strategic and vital role of public relations in enhancing health, rehabilitation, and effective community engagement.

According to our university correspondent, Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini, in his message on Public Relations Day, praised the efforts of those active in the field and underscored the need for a strategic and interactive approach to public relations within the health sector. His full message is as follows:

Dear colleagues,

On Public Relations Day, I want to congratulate all those dedicated to this vital discipline. In a world where social transformations, communication technologies, and public expectations evolve unprecedentedly, public relations no longer serve merely as an information dissemination tool. Instead, as a thought leader, it must be positioned at the heart of decision-making processes and social responsibility.

In the fields of health and especially rehabilitation, public relations requires a fresh, strategic perspective more than ever before—one that shifts focus from one-way messaging to active engagement with the community, a genuine understanding of stakeholders’ needs, and fostering dialogue among universities, the public, and policymakers.

At the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, we believe that improving health outcomes and expanding rehabilitation services are only achievable through community support and understanding. This can be realized by strengthening the strategic role of public relations within the larger healthcare framework.

It is now clearer than ever that prioritizing public relations is not merely decorative but a fundamental necessity for building public trust, ensuring transparency, and creating a comprehensive discourse in the health sector. To turn rehabilitation into a widespread public demand and amplify the voices of individuals with special needs at the national level, we must transform public relations into a core pillar of responsibility and strategic communication.

On this important day, I appreciate the efforts, creativity, and professional dedication of all colleagues in the field of public relations. I hope that together, we can shape a new horizon of effective, trust-building, and transformative communication for our university and society.

Dr. Seyed Ali Hosseini
