Two Faculty Members Secure Second Place at the Academy of Medical Sciences Scientific Festival
Dr. Ahmad Delbari and Dr. Nasibeh Zanjari, faculty members of the Department of Gerontology at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences, won second place and were awarded honorary diplomas and letters of appreciation at the Academy of Medical Sciences Scientific Festival.
According to the university's Web Day news service, the Scientific Festival of the Academy of Medical Sciences of the Islamic Republic of Iran was held in the Ghadir Hall of the Academy. The event was attended by Dr. Seyyed Alireza Marandi, President of the Academy of Medical Sciences, along with several permanent members of the Academy and prominent professors and veterans of the country's health sector.
In the "Best Persian Article" category, Dr. Nasibeh Zanjari and Dr. Ahmad Delbari, along with their colleagues, were honored with second place for their paper titled "Futures Studies on the Challenges and Drivers of Population Aging in Iran: A Scenario Analysis Approach." Published in the Iranian Journal of Ageing in 2024 (1403 SH), the authors received honorary diplomas and letters of appreciation for their contribution.
The festival recognized winners across five categories: the Health Award (for social activists impacting the health system), the Late Professor Dr. Noureddin Hadavi Award (for top researchers, young researchers, and leading research centers), the Professor Dr. Fereidoun Azizi Award (aimed at introducing distinguished medical scientists of the last decade), the Academy's Best Research Project Award, and the Best Persian Article Award.
During this scientific event, research papers and projects were evaluated based on valid international indices and criteria, judged by prominent national and international professors. The selected works were then granted the Academy of Medical Sciences Scientific Award.
The selection process for the Best Persian Article involved reaching out to editors of Persian medical journals nationwide, requesting them to nominate their top two articles from 2024 based on a specific criteria checklist. The nominated articles underwent a peer-review process by the scientific committee, and the final winners were selected based on the consensus of the committee members.
