Health in Disaster and Emergencies Research Center:

The Health in Disaster and Emergencies Research Center was established within the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences in 2001. The main purpose of the Health in Disaster and Emergencies research center is to decrease the problems associated with emergencies and do all-dimensional research in the field of disaster to design a comprehensive program toward a final goal  This center was authorized by the Ministry of Health and Medical Education to be the scientific and academic resource center. We are proud to mention that this center has conducted research related to health in disasters and emergencies with special units inside and outside of Iran.

Our mission:

The increasing unpredictability, severity, and frequency of natural disasters in the past decade due to climate change caused by global warming highlight the urgent need for better preparedness for major events and our research center tries to focus on disaster risk reduction, while enhancing response capacity and to invest on related researches which may lead to quality decision making in disaster management and rehabilitation.

• The effect of education of hospital incident command system on the preparedness of disaster committee and nurses in Zarand Hospital 2010
• Effect of performance of preparedness plan on preparedness of nursing staff for responding to postulated earthquake disaster in Razi psychiatric hospital
• The evaluation of the implementation of a coordination-based disaster response model in Rajaei Hospital disaster preparedness in simulated condition
• The effect of triage on the duration of wafting time for receiving health services and patient satisfaction for customers in emergency wards at Shahid Rajaei Hospital in Karaj in 2006
• The study of Zanjan rehabilitation facilities' disaster preparedness in 2009
