History of USWR

The University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences (USWR) was established in 1992 as a collaborating university with the National Welfare Organisation. USWR was recognized as an independent university under the supervision of the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in 2007. USWR is a unique university in Iran and the region in the field of rehabilitation, welfare, and social services. The mission of our university is to provide the highest quality of teaching and research in the fields of mental health, social welfare, and rehabilitation as a focal point both at the national and regional levels. We are proud that this world-class environment offers a comprehensive range of rehabilitation courses such as Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Speech Therapy, Social Work, and Gerontology, and also top-ranked research centers for Genetics, Aging, Social determinants of Health, Addiction, and Disaster.   Also, there are different specialized hospitals and clinics in the fields of rehabilitation and mental health such as the Razi Mental Health Hospital and the Rofeideh Rehabilitation Hospital which are affiliated to the university. The university is located in a green environment with a lovely view of Alborz Mountain in the north of Tehran. USWRs offers a vast range of programs and degrees for undergraduate and postgraduate specialty PhD.
