A Day for Voice: Scientific Examination of Vocal Injuries and Treatment Solutions

In honor of World Voice Day, the Student Scientific Association of Speech Therapy will host a specialized scientific session on voice health. This event aims to enhance public and professional awareness about voice health, prevent vocal injuries, and emphasize the importance of early intervention and treatment.

Dr. Arezu Hasanzadeh, a Speech Therapy Department faculty member, stated in an interview with the university's website that in celebration of World Voice Day, the association will welcome a group of distinguished professors and specialists in the fields of voice, speech therapy, and health.

Dr. Hasanzadeh emphasized that this scientific session is designed to promote both general and specialized knowledge regarding voice health, the prevention of vocal injuries, and the significance of early therapeutic interventions.

She continued by mentioning that the speakers for this session will include Dr. Masoud Kazemi, Dr. Saeed Sohrab pour, Dr. Pegah Alizadeh Pahlevan, and Dr. Arezu Hasanzadeh.

A member of the faculty at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences added that the topics to be discussed in this session will cover the prevention of vocal injuries, the importance of early treatment, the examination of functional voice disorders, the role of gastrointestinal health in producing a healthy voice, the impact of mental health on voice quality and stability, and the professional challenges faced by voice users such as teachers, singers, and broadcasters.

Dr. Hasanzadeh concluded by stating that the program will take place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM in Shamloo Hall at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences.
