Aging Research Center Shines at Research Week
The Aging Research Center at the University of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation Sciences (USWR) has been named the university's top research center during Research Week.
A ceremony was held to celebrate the center's scientific achievements, attended by the university president, vice-chancellors, and faculty.
Dr. Seyyed Ali Hosseini, the Chancellor, praised the center's accomplishments, calling it a "turning point" for the university. He thanked the center's members and expressed optimism for continued growth.
Dr. Saeed Khanjani, Vice-Chancellor for Research, credited the center's success to teamwork and collaboration. "The Aging Research Center's efforts not only elevate its standing but also boost the university's scientific advancement," he stated.
Dr. Mehrdad Farrokhi, Vice-Chancellor for Development, emphasized continued support for even greater achievements.
Alzheimer's Gene Discovery Highlights Center's Successes
Dr. Ahmad Delbari, Head of the Aging Research Center, highlighted the recent discovery of two new genes related to Alzheimer's disease.
"This recognition is a great honor and a result of the collective efforts of my colleagues," Dr. Delbari said. "I'm pleased that our work to improve the quality of life for the elderly is being recognized and that this inspires us to continue."
Dr. Delbari thanked the university president and vice-chancellors for their support, emphasizing the close collaboration between the center and the university administration.
The ceremony also honored four faculty members and experts from the center who were recognized by the university president during Research Week.
With its significant achievements, the Aging Research Center reaffirms its position as a research leader at USWR.
